this is a super simple way of potentially saving you a lot of heartache stress and potentially jail time through a misunderstanding hey just before the video starts i've written a little guide on remote working uh it's free you can check it out in the description just talks about why you'd want to do this what to look for in a job a couple of recommendations for platforms so you can find one i think it's the best way to live so if i can help more people do it amazing enjoy the video and this relates exactly to taking your bag on a plane if you're checking it in and it's out of your sight if it's out of your sight it's out of your control you don't know what's going on behind the scenes so these are small cable ties you can pick up a pack of 100 for these of these for two pounds i reckon two pounds three dollars something like that they're so small they take up no space and what you want to do is if you check your bag in every single opening on the bag you want to put a cable tie on and this isn't to stop someone getting in this is to let you know if someone has got in because the cable tie once it's closed you can't open it and close it again you can but if you're trying to do something quickly you're just going to snap it what this is going to do and i'm going to tell the story of what happened to me in a second is that when you take your bag back at the other end you check every cable tie if one of them is broken you immediately put the bag on the floor you call a security guard over you explain that the cable tire's broken and that you want him to watch you go through the pocket in front of him this will give you some leverage if someone's put something illegal in your bag trying to get it through the airport okay so this happened to me in my flight to malaysia a while ago i had a big hiking rucksack silly i've done another video on why you should take way less stuff i didn't use half of it so i had this big hiking rucksack i had to check it in because i couldn't take it on the plane with me i put cable ties on all of the pockets and when i got to the other side the very bottom pocket which is used to keep the waterproof cover of the bag the cable tie had come off i've dropped the bag i called the security guard over and i said do you see these he's like yes i said i put these on this one is gone please watch as i go through this pocket the whole time my heart is beating i'm like what if i pull out some narcotics here luckily there wasn't anything but how would you know if someone had or hadn't put something in your bag if you have no system to tell you when the pocket has been opened since the last time you closed it each cable tie probably costs you two pence and it takes two minutes to put them all around your bag yeah i know it's plastic but would you rather be caught trying to traffic drugs through an airport and then say i didn't put that in my bag and they're like oh yeah prove it prove that you didn't try and take this through it's your bag right you packed it yourself yeah but you let your bag out of your sight i'll link to the other video i made about taking less stuff it talks a little bit about this and about other stuff but yeah pick up some little cable ties put them all over your bag check your bag immediately after you take it off the carousel and if there's even a single one out of place drop the bag bring security i think 99 of the time you're going to be absolutely fine but do you want to be in prison in a place like thailand no definitely not definitely not i wrote a little guide on remote working it's in the description if you'd like to get it it's free you can just have a look have a read maybe i'll pick some stuff up bye
