Time management and daily structure strategies for remote freelancers.
Video Transcript
let's talk about breaking your day up if
you're traveling and working remotely
this isn't going to apply for people
that are on that fixed schedule of the
nine to five you don't really have a
choice maybe you get a lunch break
um but it's not really enough
to do what i'm about to talk about but
if you're
working a job you're freelancing which i
think is ideal
um you're working a job where you choose
your own hours
you only really get four hours of super
productive work before you need to reset
and that is because the energy it takes
to actually do
highly focused work
depletes over time
and
one of the ways that you can recharge
that is exercise
foods although that can make you sleepy
depending what you eat
so if
you want to actually get two four hour
work sessions done in the day and also
enjoy yourself while you're traveling
you can do what i do
this is i get up in the morning if i got
a pool in the hotel
or the hostel jump in the pool wakes you
up
immediately start
working go find a nice cafe somewhere
get an iced coffee
i'm in turkey right now and uh in
melania
and they i have they have iced coffee
everywhere
it's so good anyway
go to a cafe set yourself a target four
hours of work if you get up between
eight and nine that will take you to
twelve one
that's an that's the perfect time to go
take your stuff back to the hotel
and work out or go in the sea i usually
try and do a workout
or go swimming or both do the workout
and then go swimming
and give yourself enough time take two
hours out you're traveling
take two hours out
go and see the place go swimming
then
once you come back you've had some food
do your next work session
if you really focus in those times you
will get more done than 90 of people who
are sat in an office
bored out of their mind
struggling clock watching
i can't imagine that
let's have a moment of silence for all
those people stuck in an office
anyway
split your work session up with exercise
food and swimming
eat something super light i said
the type of food you eat affects it
go get a salad or something it's not
it's not girly to have a salad go and
have a salad it's super light you get
some protein you don't get heavy carbs
it's not going to slow you down you're
not going to feel like sleeping in the
afternoon
smash out your morning session
exercise swim
get some sun
do your afternoon session
close your laptop
don't do these marathon
10 hour sessions you're just faking
productivity it doesn't work
unless you're like vitalik buterin or
mark zuckerberg or something
which i'm not
not because if i was mark zuckerberg i'd
probably be sat here with like a
completely white sun cream face have you
seen that photo very funny
yeah recap then
get up early don't waste your time
hungover
get up early
jump in a pool
four hours work
close your laptop swim exercise
eat nice food
another four hours
close your laptop
do something else
i've written a remote working guide it
talks about the kind of jobs that you
want to get where you can get them why
you'd want to do this etc it's in the
description below click the link and
i'll send it to you
it's completely free
